Article by Andrew Christian, on October 2, 2015

Dealers for the Cadillac have announced that they have started accepting orders for the brand’s newest luxury compact performance vehicle, the 2016 ATS-V. Production of the car had started in the spring. The new model comes in two variations, the sedan and the coupe. The 2016 ATS-V has a twin turbocharge, giving users the experience of having a luxury car with excellent performance.

It has both the sophisticated road manner expected from the Cadillac brand and the track capability. The twin turbo of the 2016 ATS-V has a 6-liter engine capable of reaching 455 horsepower and a maximum torque of 445 lb-ft. It has a maximum speed of 189 and can go from 0 to 60 in 3.9 seconds.

The twin turbo is supported by a 6-speed Active Rev Match with no-lift shifting and launch control, or an 8-shift paddle automatic transmission that features both a launch control and a Performance Algorithm Shift. The 2016 ATS-V sedan has a retail price of $61,460 while the coupe version starts at $63,660. Interested buyers can order the units from their dealers or visit Cadillac’s website at www.cadillac.com.

In addition to the engine, the ATS-V has other features that are expected from the Cadillac brand. It has the Brembo high-performance brake system that has been specifically developed for its track-day performance and an integrated chassis control that allows balanced performance on the track along with the Performance Traction Management. The ATS-V also has the 3rd-generation Magnetic Ride Control, giving a damping response 40% faster than other cars.

It also has tri-compound tires that not only give amazing grip but also extend the tire wear. The new model has the standard hood made of carbon fiber and the downforce-generating track aerodynamics package. The ATS-V has the Performance Data Recorder which allows for the recording of high-definition, along with data overlays, of the different driving experiences, whether on the track or off it.

For drivers who are active on social media, this will enable them to share their unique experiences to the world. As evidence of the excellent performance of the ATS-V, it was a participant in the motorsports world, starting with the Pirelli World Challenge GT 2015, held last March in Austin, Texas during the Circuit of the Americas.

Cadillac’s racing team has won the series three times over other brands like the Audi, Porsche, and even Ferrari. Cadillac’s 2016 ATS-V is being assembled at its Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.
