Chevrolet Niva Concept became official today at the 2014 Moscow Motor Show. Previewing the next-generation Chevrolet Niva, the new concept car comes with several elements that transform it into the perfect car to take on any slippery or uneven road.

As you can see from the photos, the vehicle features a generous ground clearance, a stylish front bumper with integrated winch, an aluminum skid plate, redesigned headlamps, as well as a snorkel exhaust.

Moreover, the Niva Concept gets a roof rack, a second spare tire and additional lights. At the rear there is a spare tire and a new rear bumper with skid plate that underlines the off-road capabilities of the vehicle.

Under the hood, the vehicle gets a 1.8-liter petrol engine delivering 135 hp and 170 Nm, bolted to a 5-speed transmission. The engine is supplied by PSA Peugeot-Citroen and it is already found on vehicles sold in emerging markets.

The vehicle you see in the photos was designed by Ondrej Koromhaz, the man who designed the Aveo RS Concept back in 2010. As we said, the Niva Concept previews the next-generation Chevrolet Niva and according to the press release, the company will introduce the new vehicle in mid-2016. [source: Chevrolet]
