Chrysler introduces the Ypsilon Black&Red edition in the UK

Article by Christian Andrei, on February 19, 2012

Chrysler will start to offer a new special edition of the Ypsilon (the automaker’s first supermini) in the UK this month. This latest edition – dubbed Black&Red – is meant to appeal to new and different consumers to the model range and also to the Chrysler brand, which had recently been relaunched in the UK.

The new Black&Red is targeted at a wider audience as it doesn’t just have striking looks and comes with new features that offer style, technology and value for money. Nigel Land, brand director, Jeep Chrysler UK, said that the company is “delighted” about the launch of the new addition to the Ypsilon lineup.

He said that he is confident that the Black&Red would be a ”valuable member” of the Ypsilon family due to its extra features that are valued at over £3000 but are in a car that has a starting price of only £12,750. It is offered with three engines: 0.9-litre TwinAir and 1.2-litre petrol, and 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel.

The Black&Red also gets a series of standard interior features such as black and red fabric seat upholstery, dashboard and door linings, air conditioning, Blue&Me Bluetooth, and a 360-degree hi-fi system.

The exterior of this car received black and red bi-color paint, a set of 16-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, fog lamps, black glass and body-colored side skirts – which are all offered as standard. The car is even more attractive as Chrysler is presenting a zero deposit, £199 per month finance deal on the 1.2-litre version (£219 0.9-litre TwinAir, £239 1.3-litre). P.S. Exterior Design

At its very core, the Lancia Ypsilon features a design that presents it as an original premium car concept that seeks to change the way you see luxury, while attracting those who want character and originality, as well as those who desire elegance and technology and people who admire innovation and quality.

The Lancia Ypsilon equates luxury with a one-of-a-kind model, and something that triggers the pleasure of owning without being pretentious. It can be your personal statement without listening to others’ judgement and the answer to your search for uniqueness.

Starting in June, the Lancia Ypsilon will be launched in several European markets and it will also be available in Great Britain and Ireland by September. It will be the fourth of this very successful brand, having sold more than 1.5 million vehicles since 1985. The Y10 was first seen at the Geneva Motor Show that year, and it was a miniature flagship that had never before seen features and design elements, quickly making the brand synonymous to being a forerunner.

Then the world saw the Lancia Y in 1996, with its strong personality, elegance and exclusivity that gave the brand a stronger sense of “customized luxury. In 2004, the third generation Lancia Ypsilon was introduced and it redefined how city cars should have class and technology as these have been the domain of higher priced cars.

Now you have the new model that strengthens the Ypsilon image as the "Fashion City-Car" that continues to live up to its image of sophisticated style, unconventional class, and charm. Only this time, the Lancia Ypsilon is much more grown up and appeals to a wider set of customers. Under the polished exteriors that are "Made in Italy", you have top-of-the-line technology that has been awarded by the "International Engine of the Year" fete.

The engine bested all other engines in all categories it was included and has been named the "International Engine of the Year 2011". The new Lancia Ypsilon continues the eco-friendliness of Multijet II e Start&Stop, and has unique features such as the "Smart fuel" system" and the Blue&Me-TomTom LIVE". You also have the new iterations of Magic Parking, LED tail lights, and bi-xenon headlights.
