Chrysler will start to offer a new special edition of the Ypsilon (the automaker’s first supermini) in the UK this month. This latest edition – dubbed Black&Red – is meant to appeal to new and different consumers to the model range and also to the Chrysler brand, which had recently been relaunched in the UK.
The new Black&Red is targeted at a wider audience as it doesn’t just have striking looks and comes with new features that offer style, technology and value for money. Nigel Land, brand director, Jeep Chrysler UK, said that the company is “delighted” about the launch of the new addition to the Ypsilon lineup.
He said that he is confident that the Black&Red would be a ”valuable member” of the Ypsilon family due to its extra features that are valued at over £3000 but are in a car that has a starting price of only £12,750. It is offered with three engines: 0.9-litre TwinAir and 1.2-litre petrol, and 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel.
The Black&Red also gets a series of standard interior features such as black and red fabric seat upholstery, dashboard and door linings, air conditioning, Blue&Me Bluetooth, and a 360-degree hi-fi system.
The exterior of this car received black and red bi-color paint, a set of 16-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, fog lamps, black glass and body-colored side skirts – which are all offered as standard. The car is even more attractive as Chrysler is presenting a zero deposit, £199 per month finance deal on the 1.2-litre version (£219 0.9-litre TwinAir, £239 1.3-litre). P.S. Motorists trying to find a small car with a premium and stunning style, innovative technology and world-class engines don’t have to look harder, as all of these attributes are found in the new Chrysler Ypsilon five-door small car that is currently being sold in the United Kingdom. At a length of just 3.8 meters, the Ypsilon is shorter than most of its competitors in the segments.
It is designed to target drivers who have an eye for quality, innovation and elegance. The new Chrysler Ypsilon should further strengthen Chrysler's already strong portfolio in Europe that includes the Grand Voyager MPV and the 300C saloon. Chrysler is now able to leverage the experience and knowledge of Fiat in the small and medium-sized car sectors, allowing it to fuse its compact and eco-friendly models with the premium attributes of its larger models.
Chrysler brand director Nigel Land remarked that the arrival of the new Ypsilon and Delta, the carmaker could now well compete in the small and medium passenger car markets, offering well-designed vehicles as credible alternatives to the mainstream models. Land remarked that the new Ypsilon and Delta are both provided with features found in a large Chrysler as well as with stylish European designed interiors.
The new Ypsilon marks Chrysler’s entry to the supermini segment, bringing along an array of new technologies like Blue&Me-TomTom LIVE, Magic Parking, the Smart Fuel System, and Xenon headlights. Depending on the trim level availed, the new Chrysler Ypsilon could be availed with a 500-watt surround sound music system, automatic climate control, cruise control and a leather steering wheel with audio controls as well as dusk and rain sensors and parking sensors. Fog lights and 16-inch wheels are also available.
