Daimler releases free app for FleetBoard telematics system

Article by Christian Andrei, on January 24, 2012

Recording the trip is made easier and more convenient with this application offered by Daimler FleetBoard, the first supplier of telematics solutions to do so. This fleet management and driving analysis application works on the Apple iPhone and iPad. With this application, operators can control their fleet of buses or coaches from any place and at any time.

The latest journey made can be seen using this app, including details like how their vehicles are being used, the working hours of the drivers, the buses’ fuel consumption, and even the coaches and the drivers' driving style.

The status of doors and loading ramps may also be monitored. The owner of the vehicle will first have to enter a FleetBoard service contract. The App Store offers the new FleetBoard app for a limited period free of charge. It has already been offered for some time now for trucks and vans. Until today, the telematics system for buses has been identified as Omniplus BusFleet.

For several weeks now, the bus-specific telematics system for rural-service buses, touring coaches and urban buses from telematics provider Daimler FleetBoard GmbH has been available.

It has also been subjected to further development. The bus-specific FleetBoard fleet management system contributes to making the company operate economically and efficiently.
