Dodge is celebrating its centennial by introducing the 2014 Charger 100th Anniversary Edition. Already available in Pitch Black, Bright White, Billet Silver, Granite Crystal, Ivory Tri-Coat, Phantom Black Tri-Coat, Header Orange, this special edition of the four-door muscle car will also be available with an all-new and exclusive High Octane Red Pearl Coat paint.
The centennial car will feature all-new 20 x 8-inch polished five-spoke aluminum wheels with Granite Crystal pockets, with matching Granite Crystal Dodge split-crosshair grille. To commemorate its century of existence, Dodge endowed the special edition with stylistic appointments like “Dodge Est. 1914” bar-style front-fender badges and special Dodge “100” logo on the center caps as well as a body-color rear spoiler and on models with the legendary HEMI and a red “R/T” heritage grille badge. The interior appointments are designed to make the 2014 Dodge Charger 100th Anniversary Edition more exclusive.
Inspired by the rich history of Dodge, designers sought to endow the interior with premium attributes that reflect the patina and machinist legacy of John and Horace Dodge. Thus, the interior features all-new Molten Red or Foundry Black Nappa leather with a custom cloud overprint that wraps the sport seats, center console armrest and door armrests. It also features a distinct three-spoke flat-bottom performance steering wheel that boasts of die-cast paddle shifters for improved driver control.
The leather-wrapped surfaces inside the cabin come with brass-colored accent stitching. Providing the muscle car with a premium look are dark Brushed Graphite center console bezels and Liquid Graphite steering-wheel accents. To commemorate Dodge's centenary, die-cast “Dodge Est. 1914” circular badges were placed on the front seatbacks and an embroidered anniversary logo was featured on the premium floor mats.
The car's instrument panel cluster graphics features black gauges with white indication as well as and a red “100” mph indication. The centenary edition also features a Electronic Vehicle Information Center and Uconnect 8.4-inch touchscreen as well as Beats by Dr. Dre audio technology that includes 10-speakers and a 12-channel 552 watt amplifier.
The Dodge Charger 100th Anniversary Edition derived from the 2014 Dodge Charger SXT Plus is powered by the 300 hp 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine paired with an art eight-speed transmission, and features active intake manifold and sport mode. This engine returns up to 31 mpg and allows the special edition Charger to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in the low 6-second range.
On the other hand, the Dodge Charger 100th Anniversary Edition derived from the 2014 Dodge Charger R/T Plus is powered by 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine (with four-cylinder mode Fuel Saver Technology) that provides 370 hp of output and 395 lb.-ft. of torque and up to 25 mpg on the highway. All Dodge Charger 100th Anniversary Editions features sport mode calibration, performance-tuned suspension and steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters for added driver control.
The special edition comes with two unique key fobs, including a 100th Anniversary Edition jeweled logo on the back side, a customized owner’s kit and a special commemorative book celebrating the 100 years of Dodge heritage. The 2014 Dodge Charger 100th Anniversary Edition package could be availed for a U.S. Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of just $2,200 more than the SXT Plus or R/T Plus trim levels.
