Dodge introduces the Avenger SE V6 trim for the 2012MY

Article by Christian A., on March 19, 2012

Affordability and power is what the new 2012 Avenger SE V6 package recently launched by Dodge offers. This mid-size car is priced from $21,495 (MSRP, excluding destination charges) and is equipped with a standard 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine, one of Ward's "10 Best Engines," that’s coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission.

The 3.6-liter Pentastar engine offers a best-in-class 283hp and 260 lb.-ft. of torque while attaining an EPA estimated 29 miles per gallon (mpg) highway – which leads its class for a V-6-powered mid-size sedan. Reid Bigland, President and CEO - Dodge Brand, described the Dodge Avenger as one of the quickest-growing mid-size cars in America, with sales higher by 112% this year.

Dodge hopes to build on this momentum with the presentation of the new SE V6 package to deliver 283hp (best-in-class), 29 mpg highway, a set of 18-inch wheels, dual exhaust with bright tips, and a rear decklid spoiler. All of these features are offered as standard at a cost of only $21,495 MSRP. What this Dodge model has in terms of power, efficiency, appearance, and value is not like any other in the segment. The new 2012 Dodge Avenger SE V6 gives customers the best features at a great price.

The 2012 Dodge Avenger is regarded as an alternative for consumers who want a sedan that’s stylish, powerful, offers an awesome value, and is packed with personality. The Avenger is offered in five trim levels.

At the bottom is the SE with a starting price of $18,995 MSRP. The next is the new SE V-6 with a starting price of $21,495 MSRP. Then there’s the SXT, SXT Plus R/T. It’s available in eight exterior colors -- Blackberry Pearl Coat, Bright Silver Metallic, Black Clear Coat, Redline 2 Pearl Coat, Bright White Clear Coat, Tungsten Metallic Clear Coat, Copperhead Pearl Coat or Blue Streak Pearl Coat.

Dodge Avenger was a front-wheel drive, mid-sized sedan that first debuted in 1995. Half a decade later, a new generation Dodge Avenger can now be appreciated by young and old enthusiasts around the globe.

With sophisticated and high-tech instrument panel, bezels, gauge faces and a multifunction three-spoke steering wheel, the Dodge designers wanted to make the customers experience a world-class level of craftsmanship, content, and comfort in the confines of their own car. Comfort and aesthetics are the main descriptors for its interior; with the armrests and the instrument panel soft to touch, the heating and cooling outlets redesigned to fit seamlessly into the new instrument panel, upgraded seats that are as soft as clouds, new ambient interior lighting, and with the customer having the option to pick from new leather and cloth seating options.

The Dodge Avenger’s ergonomic features are designed to keep the driver’s hands on the wheel and their eyes on the road. The innovative steering wheel has integrated controls that let the driver activate the radio, cruise control, have a conversation with your love ones in your mobile phone, and control a wide array of vehicle function without taking their hands off the wheel. The Dodge Avenger also has the driver’s social connectivity in mind, with an accessible media center equipped with voice command technology that can be used even by toddlers. The media center offers SIRIUS Satellite Radio, a 30-gigabyte hard drive, iPod connectivity, streaming music capability and a navigation system with SIRIUS Travel Link for real-time information.

Of course, with this kind of lavish and performance-inspired vehicle, safety and security is a must. Standard features include advanced multi-staged front passenger air bags with supplemental side-curtain air bags, active head restraints, electronic stability control (ESC), four-wheel anti-lock brakes (ABS), and electronic traction control. Parents can even have peace of mind whenever their children are inside the Dodge Avenger because of the Lower Anchors and Tether for Children (LATCH) child seat anchor system with an available Uconnect Voice Command.
