There’s always something to blow you away at Bonhams' traditional end of year sale of Important Motor Cars and Fine Automobilia. And this year, it takes place on December 6 at a new venue -- Mercedes-Benz World in Surrey.
Among the standouts are a Mercedes-Benz 600, which lists Elvis Presley as its owner, and a 2000 Ferrari 550 GTZ. Already, the excellently-restored Mercedes-Benz 600 has received a pre-sale estimate of £150,000 – 200,000.
Presley, who had only registered a handful of cars in his name, owned this vehicle for two years before he gave it to his friend, James Leroy Robertson.
The vendor purchased this car from Robertson Motors Memphis, and exported it to the UK. Meanwhile, the Ferrari 550 GTZ is one of only five examples of the car bodied by Italian carrozeria Zagato.
It is also the lone Right Hand Drive example. At the Bonhams December sale, expect a large variety of motor cars spanning all periods, types and marques, as it is traditionally the largest sale, by value and volume.
Mercedes-Benz World, which is located within the banking of Britain's first ever purpose built racing circuit, the famous Brooklands Motor Course, near Weybridge, offers an exciting site for the sale.
Aside from the amazing setting, the venue features two refreshment areas – Cafe 1886 and the Gullwing restaurant. It’s also a plus that the esteemed new Brooklands Hotel is just next door.
To get there, visitors may take a shuttle service linking Mercedes-Benz World and Weybridge railway station, as well as connections to London, the M25 and Heathrow and Gatwick Airports.
