As you may know already, the well-know website MegaUpload was recently closed by the feds but this is not what it grabbed our attention as we are addicted to cars. What did got our attention was the cars owned by the guys who built the filesharing supersite. Apparently, the MegaUpload owners loved cars but also wanted to have special license plates like Mafia, Guilty, V, CEO, Police, Kimcom, Hacker, Stoned, T or God.
Some of the cars owned include a Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG, a Mini Copper S Coupe, a Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG, a Mercedes-Benz CL65 AMG and a CL63 AMG, a Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG, a Harley Davidson motorcycle, a Mercedes-Benz A170, a ML500, a 1957 Cadillac El Dorado, a 1959 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible, a Lamborghini LM002, a Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM as well as a Von Dutch Kustom Motor Bike.
For those who don’t know, the MegaUpload website had over 150 million registered users and 50 million daily visitors which account for four percent of the total traffic on the Internet. What we didn’t know is that rap producer Swizz Beatz was for some reason its CEO. The founder of MegaUpload was Kim “Dotcom” Schlitz, who is now a very sad man awaiting prosecution.
Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG is now made more efficient and powerful, following their "AMG Performance 2015" strategy.
The latest Mercedes-Benz E-Class now has a new V8 biturbo engine, the same one you see on the 2012 CLS63 AMG. The 5.5 L engine gives you either 550 hp or 518 hp of power, while also lowering fuel use by as much as 22 percent based on the driving cycle in Europe. Fuel efficiency is also helped by the new electromechanical sports steering system. The speed-sensitive system draws power only when it is moved. The 2012 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG will be available in the United States in autumn of 2011.
This eight-cylinder engine was designed in-house as the M157. It mixes high-tech and innovative parts such as a full aluminum crankcase, spray-guided direct gasoline injection that has piezo injectors, air and water intercooling, four-valve technology that has camshaft adjustment, an Eco Stop Start system, and generator management. It has a displacement of 5,461 cc and gives 518 hp of power and 516 lb-ft of torque. Together with the available AMG Performance Package, you can get as much as 550 hp of power and 590 lb-ft of torque. Both models of the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG give its drivers outstanding performance: you can go from standstill to 60 miles per hour in only 4.3 or 4.4 seconds while reaching top speeds of 186 miles per hour or 155 miles per hour depending on whether you have the AMG Performance Package or not.
The improved torque and output that you get from the AMG Performance Package is due to the maximum boost pressure increasing to 18.8 psi from only 14.5. You can differentiate the two models by the carbon fiber trunk lid spoiler, the carbon fiber engine cover, the red brake calipers, and the AMG Performance steering wheel that has black Alcantara side grips.
Do more with a 7-speed sports transmission
The AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission helps the car become more fuel efficient. Instead of using a traditional torque converter, the MCT makes use of a small wet start-up clutch. The new Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG also has an ECO Stop/Start feature that is activated when you go into the Controlled Efficiency transmission mode. This will switch the engine off when the car stops. You can also activate or deactivate the ECO Stop/Start function using the ECO button you find on the center console. When you go into the C transmission mode, the car will start-off in second gear and the system will shift earlier so that you do not go very fast. The generator and fuel pump use braking energy to also help you save fuel.
