This is the Felino cB7, a race-worthy sports car built by Felino Corporation, which is led by Antoine Bessette. For those who don’t know, Felino Corporation has been involved in motorsports for around ten years but for the last four years, the company concentrated its efforts on building a true Made in Quebec sports car.
According to the official press release, the Felino cB7 is a tubular frame vehicle wrapped with composite and carbon fibre elements. With a weight of approximately 1,000 kg (2,200 lbs), the cB7 can be equipped with 4, 6 or 8-cylinder engines. Early prototypes of the vehicle were powered by 4-cylinder turbo engines, which received high mark in 2012 and 2013.
However, in 2013, a 6.2-liter V8 was installed on the second-generation prototype and will be tested thoroughly in the Spring of 2014. The V8 engine generates 525 hp @ 6,300 rpm and 489 lb-ft of torque @ 4,400 rpm. The engine is bolted to a six-speed manual transmission or to the optional sequential box. Optional carbon fiber brakes are available, but as standard the Felino cB7 comes with 355 mm diameter, 6-piston calipers on the front and 355 mm diameter, 4-piston calibers on the rear.
The brakes are hidden behind the 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels wrapped in high-performance tires (245/40R18 on the front and 315/30R18 on the rear). Inside, we find a carbon fiber dashboard, a quick removable steering wheel, 6-point harness, a formula type driving position and on-board data acquisition system. Race suit cooling is offered as an option. Furthermore, the body of the car features composite and carbon fiber body panels, side and back-up cameras, a carbon fiber air diffuser and HID performance lights. Regarding the price, the Felino cB7 is expected to cost under $100,000.
