Counting on the fact that Americans like limited editions, Fiat has decided to offer the Fiat 500 by Gucci in the U.S. The Fiat 500 and 500 Cabrio are already available in the country. The special edition commemorates the 90th anniversary of the Gucci brand. Its release is also aimed to take place on the year that marks 150 years of Italian unification.
This car will have several awesome features like an interior that has a combination of two-tone black with white interior or white exterior with satin chrome and black interior.
Its exterior is customized with a set of rims mounted on 195/45 R16 tires in a retro spoked design that matches the interiors’ colors. It also will feature the novelty of having "diamante" on the spokes. Its other refined details include hubcaps marked "GG" in the same color as the bodywork and "Gucci" written in italics on the tailgate and on the door pillars.
The version that is powered by the 100hp 1.4 engine arrives with brake calipers painted green. The Fiat 500 by Gucci provides exclusive materials, such as the glossy or satin chrome elements, Its dashboard is painted with a velvet-effect treatment while its "Guccissima" graphics are seen in the two-tone seats covered in Frau leather.
The Gucci Edition’s Fiat 500 model will now have a Nero (black) monotone theme for its interior as an option. This new theme is expected to complement the Gucci Nero exterior and contrast with the glossy pearl-glass Gucci Bianco (white) exterior and the lighting bezels in Gloss Nero. While the Nero interior space is indeed stylish up to the last detail, it is functional as well. Examples of this include the use of exclusive materials and the chic embroidery. Then there is the bright chrome highlights for the Gucci Nero and the satin chrome for the Gucci Bianco. The use of velvety varnish on its instrument panel and wrapping the seats in Poltrona Frau leather that has the signature "Guccissima" print, also helps with the styling.
On the interior door panels, Premium Nero leather accents can be seen while the steering wheel is wrapped in hand-stitched leather. Those who want a two-tone environment will be pleased to know that Fiat 500 by Gucci Edition models will be reintroduced with two interior color themes. The Gucci Nero exterior for instance will be complemented by its interior of Bianco/Nero seating and accents. Meanwhile, the Gucci Bianco exterior will be matched with the Nero/Bianco theme.
Both the 2013 Fiat 500 and 2013 Fiat 500c by Gucci Edition will also have exclusive design elements that are expected to underscore the iconic style of the Cinquecento. What’s expected for the Fiat 500 version is that it will have the Gucci Verde/Rosso/Verde signature, or the green/red/green, web stripe going across the whole perimeter of its bodyside. While the Fiat 500c will have the same web stripe that will instead go through the entire length of the power-retractable cloth top.
Completing the hatchback and door frames are the cursive "Gucci" signatures in chrome. This is complemented by the Gucci Nero (bright) or the Gucci Bianco (satin) exterior mirrors with the chrome highlights, hood spear, and door handles. While the vehicle already has sculpted fenders, added to this are the retro-inspired and uniquely-designed aluminum 15-inch wheels that have the same color as that of the exterior, either Gucci Bianco or Gucci Nero. To increase the level of sophistication, the design of the wheel has its center caps having that interlocking "GG" hubcaps while the brake pads have been lacquered in the signature Gucci Verde (green).
