Fiat 500 ‘My World’ commercial featuring Jennifer Lopez debuts in the U.S.

The ad spot for the Fiat 500 called 'My World', featuring Jennifer Lopez in what seems to be a music video, was heavily criticized. However, Fiat-Chrysler defends itself, saying that it was merely serving as a sponsor and that the ad was a trailer for Lopez’s music video. The real spot has actually just been released.

This car commercial was developed with the help of agency Doner. The press material refers to this ad as the “first” one for the Fiat 500. Lopez appears in this ad but she is more of a co-star to the Fiat 500. The song is different and the ad was shot in New York, rather than on a sound stage.

Inside the Fiat 500c are various features that are related to fuel efficiency, innovative technology, top-of-the-line quality, and safety system. While its size made it suitable to be driven in urban areas, it could accommodate up to four passengers and even had amazing driving dynamics. Powering the Fiat 500c is the new MultiAir 1.4-liter engine with the eco:Drive Application. It even had the advanced TomTom Navigation and had the Handsfree Communication BLUE&ME technology included. In terms of safety, it is fitted with seven air bags as standard.

Indeed, the Fiat 500c is able to give customers a more unique drive and a distinct ownership experience. Improving this package even further are the refinement and quality adaptations made specifically for the U.S. market. It even has the new automatic 6-speed transmission. These are not the only qualities that make the Fiat 500c amazing. While the first Fiat 500 (Cinquecento) did have iconic characteristics that made it a timeless symbol, the 2012 Fiat 500 Cabrio continues to have the advanced technology, efficient design, timeless functionality, and Italian style, combined with driving enjoyment and the freedom afforded of open-air.

All these meant that it can be appreciated even by the new generation of drivers. Since the 2012 Fiat 500c is more of a modern interpretation of the first Cinquecento, it comes with the power-operated dual-layer premium cloth top aimed at offering driving please every time, no matter if it is down or up. Its distinct body-side profile is fully stamped and delivers 70% less header shake when compared to its key rivals.

When it comes to interior sound quality then, it leads its segment with the quietest being at 45 mph, then 70 mph and finally the lowest powertrain noise. Customization is excellent as the Fiat 500c offers at least 500,000 ways to style it as, among others, three colors are offered for the cloth top with the body having 14 colors available, and three finishes which are non-metallic, metallic, and the tri-coat premium pearl finish. Indeed, each unit of the 2012 Fiat 500c is likely to be unique.

FIAT USA Debuts First Fiat 500 Commercial Featuring Jennifer Lopez

The FIAT brand is debuting the first 2012 Fiat 500 commercial featuring actress, entertainer, philanthropist and entrepreneur, Jennifer Lopez.

The commercial, titled "My World," is voiced-over by Lopez, who is seen driving a Fiat 500 Cabrio as she travels through the streets of Manhattan to the Bronx where she grew up. The new ad explores her personal take on how life in the New York City borough continues to inspire her to be tougher, to stay sharper and to think faster. "My World" features the song, "Until It Beats No More," from Lopez's new album, "Love?"(Island Def Jam) and will begin airing on national broadcast and cable networks on Monday, Oct. 10.

The new commercial highlights the engineering and performance of the 2012 Fiat 500 as it explores the backdrop of urban life in and outside of New York City.

"The design, engineering and performance of the 2012 Fiat 500 is developed to react to the driver's needs on the city streets as if it were born in the city and made for the city," Francois said.

A 60-second and a 30-second version of "My World" can be viewed at the FIAT brand Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/FIATUSA and on the FIAT brand YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/FIATUSA. The commercial was created in partnership with Doner of Detroit.

Last month, the FIAT Brand announced its collaboration with Lopez, which included placement of the 2012 Fiat 500 Cabrio in Lopez's new music video, "Papi," as well as a 30-second trailer of the video, featuring the vehicle which aired on local and national broadcast networks.
