F&M Mugello supercar teased for the first time

Article by Christian A., on December 8, 2011

Luca Mazzanti and Water Faralli a.k.a. F&M revealed today the new Mugello, a supercar that promises to continue the tradition began by the Antas V8 and the Vulca V12. The new M&F Mugello will be a mid-engined supercar, but no technical details are available yet. Moreover, the production will be limited to just 5 units, so expect to see an impressive price tag.

Some of the features seen on the Mugello are side mirrors inspired by the Pagani Zonda, an integrated air roof scoop, side air intakes, daytime running LEDs as well as new taillights featuring the same LED technology, but also centrally mounted dual exhaust tips.

The F&M Vulca S was priced at $393,000 and was powered by a 5.8-liter V19 engine delivering 600 hp. Expect the new M&F Mugello to deliver over 600 hp.

The latest F&M Evantra supercar is actually based on the project Mugello’s concept vehicle. To make it sound more exclusive, F&M coined the name Evantra, which simply means “goddess of immortality”. Obviously, the name was also acquired from the traditional Etruscan language.

Only 5 prototypes of the F&M Evantra will be produced yearly. This adds more of a sense of exclusivity to the very unique production-ready vehicle. There is in fact already one on its way and this will be shown on either the 2nd or 3rd quarter of 2012. To ensure customer satisfaction, its creator, Mr Luca Mazzati (from the new “Mazzanti Automobil” atelier in Pontedera) will supervise the production of the custom-built Evantra.

F&M created a feather weight steel chassis to bring out the Evantra’s highly dynamic road performance. It can be availed either in twin turbo or naturally aspirated engine. Aside from this, the impressive car can make it to any road with its extraordinary low kerb weight and low centre of gravity.

The two-seater coupe’s bodyframe is either made with all aluminium or composite materials. The latter, or otherwise called Pro-body is the standard variant and is readily available. The more exclusive is the first or “One-body” (as they call it) is actually “made-to-order”. The bespoke version is custom made according to the client’s specifications. The One-body is also handmade to perfection using only the finest aluminium.

As for its dimensions, the off-the-rack version comes with 2550mm wheelbase. It measures about 1955mm wide 1225mm tall and 4325mm long. Other standard specs for the PRO-body consists of 1200kg Kerb weight, 3.5L engine capacity, 6 cylinder powerful engine and 603hp bi-turbo or 403hp (naturally aspirated) power output. This gives the F&M Evantra PRO-body the power to run from 0-100km/h in just 3.7 seconds.
