Crash test authority Euro NCAP gave the highest possible five-star safety rating to the all-new Ford B-MAX. The Ford B-MAX compact multi-activity vehicle got an overall protection score of 83%, after getting a score of 93% for adult protection and 84% for child protection. Tom Overington, Ford’s European safety project manager, said that safety is a “fundamental Ford value.”

He said that the team did very well in guaranteeing that B-MAX offers the safety standards to be expected for any model. When the do expressure Ford subjected the B-MAX to more than 5,000 computer simulated crash tests during development, no less than 40 complete crash tests and a further 100 tests which involved the car being mounted on a sled and fired into a barrier.

The high strength and ultra-high strength steels form more than 58% of the B-MAX body and are used in brackets, called crash-catchers; these lock the ingenious Ford Easy Access Door System in place if the vehicle suffers a side-impact. The B-MAX has seven airbags and the front-end is carefully engineered for optimised pedestrian protection.

It also features Ford’s Active City Stop system – a segment-first designed to help motorists avoid low speed collisions with stationary or slower moving traffic. This model comes with the following: SYNC, with Emergency Assistance, designed to assist the car’s occupants to call for help in the event of a crash.

The compact MAV class’ fuel-efficiency standard is brought to new heights with its new Ford B-MAX. 2012’s "International Engine of the Year" 1.0-litre Ford EcoBoost petrol engine is available in 120 PS and 100 PS versions. The 120 PS model offers class-leading 114g/km of CO2 emissions.

Ford B-MAX’s diesel engines are available in 75PS 1.5-litre and 95PS 1.6-litre Duratorq TDCi, each one offering exceptional fuel economy. Moreover, the 1.6-litre model provides best-in-class CO2 emissions of 104g/km.

'Right-sized' for modern motoring

B-MAX features finest technologies demanded by customers looking to "right-size" their brand-new car. About 40 percent of B-MAX buyers chose B-MAX next to owning a bigger car while 20 percent have previously owned a smaller automobile.

Connectivity interface, device integration and the Ford SYNC voice control are the cutting-edge features that the model includes. In addition, it has Emergency Assistance feature intended to assist its passengers to call the local emergency contacts in case of accident.

High quality and modern materials all over the interior indicate a high level of skill and keenness to detail. This includes comfort features such as an exclusive audio system (eight-speaker Sony DAB), Ford Power Button, full leather upholstery, Key Free system and Rear View Camera.
