Ford Britain has already delivered more than 1,000 Ford B-MAX models to customers in the United Kingdom, a strong signal for a good reception for the newest member of the B-MAV segment. Ford Britain likewise has received over 2,500 orders, majority of which were placed before the Ford B-MAX arrived in dealerships in the UK.
Private buyers account for around 63 percent of the total sales of the Ford B-MAX, while Motability customers accounted for 22 percent. Fleet customer accounted for the rest.
According to Anthony Ireson, Ford Britain marketing director, the success of the Ford B-MAX in the UK could be attributed to a promotional campaign that offered a chance to win unusual prizes that were typically not available to the general public. Ireson revealed that more than 70,000 of the participants visited an online Ford B-MAX configurator, allowing Ford Britain to determine that there was a strong appeal from the start.
Ford Britain’s marketing director quipped that they were amazed by the level of interest on the Ford B-MAX, as most customers placed orders even before they had visited a showroom.
The new Ford B-MAX features a distinct yet nifty door system, which integrates the traditional central “B” pillar structure into the rear doors. This creates an opening of more than 1.5 meters wide when the hinged front doors and rear sliding doors are opened.
The wider opening allows easier side loading, easier entry and exit. Coupled with fold flat passenger and rear seats, the wider opening allows great flexibility.
The Ford B-MAX features technologies like the SYNC, which is Ford’s voice-activated, in-car connectivity system that allows users to connect mobile phones and music players either by Bluetooth or USB, SYNC also allows users to make hands-free phone calls and control music using voice controls. SYNC also offers the new Emergency Assistance feature designed to call a local emergency services operator in case of an accident.
