Ford is currently involving in charity events with his second one-of-a-kind project designed especially for the Experimental Aircraft Association's 'Gathering of Eagles' fundraiser. The special model AV-X10 "Dearborn Doll" Ford Mustang features an aircraft lookalike to fit with the event's thematic. Its platform base is represented by a 2010 Mustang GT with Glass roof option and performance changes borrowed from Ford Racing.
The car is powered by 10-millionth Romeo Engine Plant 4.6L V8 engine, with the performance package including a Ford Racing 550 horsepower supercharger kit, FR500S performance exhaust, short throw shifter, Handling Pack featuring dampers, lowering springs and anti-roll bar kit.
In terms of look and feel its paint and graphic theme was designed as a recognition to the WWII aviation paint schemes, translated into a custom blended Satin Silver base with Yellow "nose cone" and rear wing along with a white tail stripe with the AV-X10 call letters.
At the exterior the car gets also a Shelby GT500 lower rear fascia and rear wing, an Air Force star decklid badge, being fitted with a set of 19-inch forged SVT GT500 five spoke wheels painted in liquid silver with yellow propeller tips.
At the interior, as expected, the car received a custom unique design featuring bomber jacket style leather for the trim mated with cockpit inspired diamond tucked seat and door inserts in military olive painted material.
In addition, to follow the theme, the AV-X10 gets a Pyrometer, boost and fuel pressure gauges with unique "Ground Speed" and "Engine Speed" AV-X10 graphics. The single unique 2010 AV-X10 Mustang will be auctioned off during the 2009 EAA Air Venture Oshkosh fly-in convention due in the last weekend of July.
