Ford Falcon GT becomes one badass police car in Australia

Article by Christian A., on November 26, 2012

A modified limited edition Ford Falcon GT, which delivers more than 535hp, is presently the most powerful highway patrol car to ever be seen in Australia’s roads. The standard Falcon GT can produce 450hp but this limited edition model gets additional power from the bigger exhaust system and larger fuel injectors in the supercharged V8 engine.

It’s the fastest car that Ford Australia has ever made. The highway patrol variant GT is supported by the Motor Accidents Authority. Its build number says 150 in commemoration of the NSW Police’s 150th anniversary.

It’s somewhat of a surprise that the Falcon GT will not be used to go after freeway speeders or law breakers. Instead, it will be campaigned more as a public awareness vehicle at events throughout NSW to be able to interact with car fans. Inspector John Lipman, the commander of the traffic technology section, said that this will likely be a “conversation starter” with enthusiasts who want a similar vehicle or one that they aspire to get.
