Ford recalling more than 465,000 vehicles

Article by Christian Andrei, on June 3, 2013

Ford has just announced that it will recall more than 465,000 vehicles in several popular models, such as the 2013 Explorer, Taurus, Flex, Fusion, Police Interceptor Utility and Sedan, 2013 Lincoln MKS, MKT and MKZ. According to a Ford spokesman, FoMoCo sent three different recalls for several of its best-selling cars to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration last week.

Apparently, se vehicles are all being recalled because a fuel delivery module in the vehicles’ fuel tanks may leak. Ford received over 600 complaints about the leaks since March 31 but no accidents, fires or injuries were reported.

500 2013 Lincoln MKZ sedans that are equipped with engine block heats are also recalled. Ford said that the insulation on the heaters’ 120-volt electrical cords may crack in subzero temperatures and as a result electrical wires are exposed. 23 Ford Fusion sedans are recalled for faulty steering gears.
