Article by Christian A., on August 19, 2014

The first Mustang RTR was unveiled back in 2010 when Ford Racing announced a partnership with Vaughn Gitting Jr. As you may know already, Ford introduced this year the sixth-generation Mustang which means that we will see a new RTR model.

The new Mustang RTR will arrive in January at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show but ahead of its debut the manufacturer released the first sketched with its new vehicle. As you can see, the 2015 Mustang RTR received a new aerodynamic body kit that makes it even more aggressive.

For instance, the front end received a redesigned front bumper fitted with a front lip spoiler, new D-shaped inserts for the front grille, a new front hood and new side sills.

At the rear, we find a new trunk spoiler, a new RTR logo located between the taillights, as well as a redesigned bumper with integrated air diffuser and exhaust system.

The design is completed by the multi-spoke wheels painted in black and by the new graphics package. Ford is expected to offer as standard the 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine that produces 310 hp and 320 lb-ft (433 Nm) of torque.

Still, a more powerful 5.0-liter V8 engine that develops 435 hp and 400 lb-ft (542 Nm) of torque. Both engines can be ordered with a manual or automatic transmissions.

Drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr. says “Ford’s Mustang team has done an incredible job with the new 2015 Ford Mustang. The RTR team and I are pumped to work with such an incredible platform for RTR builds. Without a question, the performance and overall presence of the new Mustang RTR will impress and keep a smile on our customers’ faces whether cruising the streets or getting crazy on the track. I cannot take delivery of mine soon enough!” [source: WorldCarFans.com]
