The Ford Focus Electric has just become more affordable as the American carmaker slashed the price of its electric car by $6,000. As a result, the Focus Electric is now priced at $29,995, including shipping. The price cut was made on October 13, will be available for all 2014 models and according to a Ford spokesman Ford will continue to offer the reduction until the 2015 models arrive.
For those who don’t know, this is the second time when Ford reduces the prices of the Focus Electric as in July 2013, the carmaker reduced the price by $4,000. Still, thanks to the $7,500 federal tax credit, the price of the Focus Electric is $22,495
Ford managed to sell around 1,500 vehicles this year, which means that the Focus Electric is still behind the Nissan Leaf and we don’t believe that it is a rival for the latter as 21,800 vehicles were sold in the first nine months of this year.
Ford Focus Electric offers a range of 76 miles, comes with a single-speed transmission, while top speed is 84 mph or 136 km/h.
