Ginetta has confirmed that it will be taking part at Salon Privé 2013, tagging the G40R and the G60. The British marquee -- which boasts of more than 50 years experience in race engineering and racing -- will display at Salon Privé 2013 two cars that demonstrate Ginetta’s diversity in terms of car production.
Hand built in Yorkshire, the Ginetta G60 is known for its design features and performance specifications. The G60’s lightweight carbon fiber body and 310-bhp engine combine to allow the car to accelerate from zero to 62 mph in just 4.9 seconds and achieve a top speed of 165 mph. To live up with one of the main themes at Salon Privé 2013, several of technology used in creating the G60 is bespoke in nature.
For instance, the suspension of the G60 has been entirely designed in-house by Ginetta’s CAD team. Likewise, the ECU and harness wiring are customized for improved reliability. Ginetta also fully re-evaluated the driver’s position.
The Ginetta G40R, in contrast, is a road-going race car in nature. The G40R is in fact a road-going version of the Ginetta G40 sports car, boasting of the looks and specs of a racing unit. Also hand-built in Yorkshire, the G40R is powered by an engine that provides up to 200bhp, allowing the “race car for the road” to accelerate 0-62 mph just a second slower than the Ginetta G60.
Lawrence Tomlinson took over Ginetta in 2005, and within six months the G50 had been built. Tomlinson and the Ginetta factory Team LNT in 2006 entered and won the GT2 class of the Le Mans 24 hour race. Team LNT -- powered by Ginetta’s G50 GT4 & G55 GT3 models --remains a force to reckon with in GT racing.
