Green Garage, seller of eco-friendly products, set to go national

Article by Christian A., on January 2, 2011

Are you concerned about the environment but don’t want to replace your vehicle with a Nissan Leaf or Toyota Prius? Then you share the same sentiment as Ryan Ferrero, CEO and founder of Green Garage, who is more focused on sustainability.

This auto repair and maintenance company, which is based in Boulder, Colo., uses 50 certified eco-friendly products meant to boost the performance of vehicles. Ferrero is preparing to take Green Garage national with the advice and investment of former Chrysler CEO and co-president Tom LaSorda.

Ferrero grew up in the car business and had owned Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge and Kia-Mazda dealerships but in the spring of 2008, Ferrero claimed that he saw an opportunity in environmental-friendly vehicle care. He recognized the need for a “real transparent and authentic approach to more sustainable or greener transportation.”

During the next six or eight months, Ferrero nurtured and applied his idea of more sustainable transportation. Ferrero opened the first Green Garage in February 2009 in Boulder. This was followed by a shop in Fort Collins, Colo., two months later.

He is set to open a Denver area shop this January. Green Garage offers its services to individuals, company fleets or groups of friends and neighbors. Buyers can choose from three maintenance packages priced from around $70 to $300. [via autonews - sub. required]
