Honda launches winter care program in the UK

Article by Christian Andrei, on November 28, 2011

A new winter care program is now available to help ensure that Honda drivers are all prepared and mobile for the cold season. This winter care program covers a seasonal health check and a full winter service, as well as a chance to buy a pair of easy-to-use tire snow socks (tire covers) that could help drivers become more mobile on snowy side roads.

Honda’s winter health check – done at a dealership -- allows drivers to ensure that their Honda cars are in a good physical shape for the cold weather. Qualified Honda technicians will conduct a thorough inspection of the car’s battery, tires, windscreen, brakes and lights. They will also check whether the engine coolant and screenwash are full.

Available at just £40, the winter health check also includes a complimentary winter safety kit -- valued at £24.99 – that includes a foldable snow shovel, high-visibility vest, LED torch and foil blanket. A full winter service is also available, covering oil and filter change and checks as well as a year worth of complimentary UK roadside assistance worth £99.

Of course, this service is done by a qualified technician. Storable in the booth, the snow socks could be easily slipped on to the front tires when needed. When in use, these snow socks offer extra traction, thereby increasing grip on snow sans any noise or vibration. When not needed, these snow socks could be easily removed and stored back in the boot.

Customers could avail of these snow socks starting at £70 per pair. According to Dave Hodgetts, Managing Director of Honda (UK), these snow socks follow a series of severe winters and so the carmaker wants to ensure that its customers are fully ready and able to stay mobile. Hodgetts added that the snow socks offer the perfect blend of affordability and ease of use without having to worry about where to store them.

In addition, customers purchasing a set of winter tires are being presented with a cost-effective storage solution for just £35 + VAT. They are given the chance to keep their now spare ‘summer’ tires in secure storage. This storage solution is ideal for winter and summer changeovers as the deal covers a 12-month period and includes two tire transfers to or from a dealership.

Honda Helps Keep Drivers On The Move This Winter

Honda drivers can be ready when the cold weather comes thanks to a new winter care programme, which includes a seasonal health check, a full winter service and the opportunity to purchase a pair of tyre snow socks.

Honda’s snow socks are tyre covers which are designed to be easy to use and provide a solution to help get drivers moving on snowy side roads. They can be kept in the boot and slipped on to the front set of tyres when needed. From £70 per pair, snow socks provide extra traction to increase grip on snow without causing noise or vibration while driving.

Once the car is back on a clear road, they can be simply removed and stored in the boot of the car ready for when they need to be used again.

“After several severe winters in a row, we are keen to ensure Honda customers are fully prepared and able to stay mobile where possible,” commented Dave Hodgetts, Managing Director of Honda (UK). “Snow socks offer the perfect combination of affordability and ease of use without the worry of where to store them.”

Honda is also offering customers who purchase a set of winter tyres a cost effective storage solution. For £35 + VAT, customers buying a winter set can place their spare ‘summer’ ones in secure storage. This cost covers a 12 month period and includes two tyre transfers to/from the Honda dealership – perfect for winter and summer changeovers.

Honda’s winter health check

The winter health check costs just £40 and customers will receive a complimentary winter safety kit worth £24.99. This handy pack includes a foldable snow shovel, foil blanket, high-visibility vest and LED torch.

For that added extra piece of mind, drivers can book their car in for a full winter service. On top of an oil and filter change and checks across the car undertaken by a qualified technician, Honda are also adding a year’s complimentary UK roadside assistance worth £99.
