As you may know already, the Ferrari 250 GTO recently celebrated its 50th anniversary and as a result, Hublot decided to create a special watch to mark this event. According to the official press release, the new watch can be customized with the chassis number engraved on the movement and can be bought only by customers who also own a Ferrari 250 GTO.
Moreover, the watch features a 45 mm titanium case inspired by the Classic Fusion line, rounded out and redesigned in order to mimic the magnificent curves of the 250 GTO. The Tourbillon movement, one of Haute Horlogerie's grande complications in the world, was specially manufactured by Hublot in skeleton form to magnificent effect, with the barrel drum located at 12 o'clock featuring a design which evokes the shape of the 250 GTO's wheel rim.
The strap is made from barenia calfskin, inspired by the upholstery used in cars of the era. For those who don’t know, only 36 Ferrari 250 GTOs were ever produced and currently the vehicle is the most expensive in the world, with the latest selling for $35 million.
