Iconic Mazda vehicles receive limited edition sheet of postage stamps

Article by Christian A., on November 8, 2010

A limited edition sheet of postage stamps featuring iconic Mazda vehicles was presented to Mazda Motor Corporation recently. The Chugoku Regional Office, Japan Post Network Co., Ltd. (Japan Post Network Chugoku Regional Office) had created and issued these stamps entitled, "History of Mazda Motor Corporation Hiroshima (with model car).”

Online sales have started for the stamps. They are also available at all post offices (except contract post offices) in parts of west Japan that have Mazda production facilities -- Hiroshima prefecture and Hofu city in Yamaguchi prefecture.

Iconic Mazda cars from the carmaker’s 90-year history are featured on the stamps. Fans can find famed models that range from the 1950 Mazda-Go three-wheeled truck to the all-new Mazda Premacy (named the Mazda5 overseas) that started selling in Japan in the summer of 2010.

The Mazda Shinari, a new concept car that shows the future direction of Mazda design, is also displayed in the stamp sheet.

A sheet of the limited edition postage stamps and a miniature model of the 1967 Mazda Cosmo Sport 110S (the world's first mass production rotary-engined sports car) was presented by Masami Uemura, managing director of the Japan Post Network Chugoku Regional Office. At this event, Mazda was represented by Yuji Harada, its director and senior managing executive officer.
