Infiniti opens first showroom in Hong Kong

Article by Anita Panait, on May 2, 2013

Infiniti has launched its first showroom in Hong Kong, marking the next step in the carmaker’s mission to establish a strong presence in the former British colony. In 2012, Infiniti moved its global headquarters to Hong Kong, a city that provides an excellent gateway to China. The showroom, called Infiniti Gallery, is located at the heart of the city at G/F Hutchison House, 10 Harcourt Road, Central, Hong Kong.

The opening of the showroom is a testament to Infiniti’s commitment to Hong Kong and a boost to its global growth plan as Infiniti Gallery reinforces its commitment to Hong Kong. The opening of the showroom was graced by Johan de Nysschen, president of Infiniti Motor Co. Ltd., and Donald Yip, chief executive of Dah Chong Hong Holdings Ltd., which is Infiniti’s local dealership partner in Hong Kong.

The opening featured an appearance by Jennifer Tse, a renowned Hong Kong model-actress, against the backdrop of the Infiniti Essence concept car.

The opening also featured the FIA Formula One World Championship Constructors’ trophy of the Infiniti Red Bull Racing team. DJ EROK of Infiniti Red Bull Racing entertained the crowd for the evening. For the first time in Hong Kong, the Essence concept took pride of place.

Considered as the epitome of the Infiniti brand, the Essence is a V6 592hp luxury hybrid coupe that features distinctive styling, intuitive technology and dramatic performance. The Essence is part of the Infiniti concept trilogy along with Etherea and Emerg-e and has influenced the carmaker’s recent design language including the all-new Infiniti Q50, which was launched in Asia at the recent Shanghai Auto Show.

“As the only premium automotive manufacturer to be headquartered in Hong Kong, I am very pleased that there is now the first Infiniti showroom, the Infiniti Gallery, right here in our home town, itself a uniquely discerning luxury car market,” said de Nysschen. “The opening of Infiniti Gallery is the latest milestone in our global expansion which now extends to 50 markets worldwide. We look forward to welcoming customers to Infiniti Gallery and enabling them to experience our range of premium performance Infiniti vehicles.”
