Jaguar Land Rover UK logs 11% jump in September sales to 10,769 vehicles

Land Rover posted an 11-percent year-on-year jump in sales in September 2013 with 10,769 vehicles registered. The September surge allowed the carmaker to log a 13-percent year-on-year hike in sales in the first nine months of 2013. The bookends of the brand paved way for a record September for the Land Rover Defender (up 30 percent) and for strong sales performance for all new Range Rover flagship (up 24 percent).

The Range Rover Evoque logged a 35-percent year-on-year increase in sales in September 2013 while the new Range Rover Sport is off to a good start after posting sales of 1,309 vehicles during in its second month in the market.  Monthly retail numbers for the new Range Rover Sport are expected to surge once the carmaker ramps up its production of the new model. The new Range Rover Sport is also expected to see the United Kingdom fulfill its order bank over the coming months.

The Land Rover Discovery also remains popular, thanks to outstanding residual values and class-leading versatility. The Land Rover Freelander also maintained an outstanding sales pace this year, growing 13 percent in September and 35 percent in the first nine months of 2013. Jaguar, on the other hand, posted a 19 percent surge in car sales in the first nine months of the year as well as a 7-percent jump increase in September.

Strong figures at Jaguar are attributed to the successful launch of the new F-TYPE convertible sports car, over 1,000 units of which were already delivered to customers in the UK. The Jaguar XF executive car and XJ luxury saloon also posted a 12-percent and a 6-percent hike in sales, respectively, so far this year.
