Jaguar releases Black Pack for the XF saloon

Article by Christian A., on November 5, 2010

Jaguar, which is known for its radical concepts, is releasing the Black Pack, an enhancement package for the XF saloon. Jaguar’s British division is offering this factory kit that improves the XF’s exterior with a moderate approach.

To boost its position in the market, Jaguar constantly makes steps forward. At the recent Paris Auto Show, it unveiled the C-X75, an eco hypercar.

The Black Pack is a new option that’s applicable to the XF diesel, XF V8 5.0 and XFR models. Getting this package means that the XF will be painted in a special color and will ride on 20-inch Draco lightweight alloy rims that have a gloss black grille and window trim.

There is a broad range of exterior finishes for the vehicle, including Polaris White, Spectrum Blue, Ultimate Black, Stratus Grey, Lunar Grey and Liquid Silver, as well as the Kyanite Blue and Salsa Red, which are offered only for the XFR model.

Drivers may also combine the Black Pack with the Aerodynamic Pack on the Diesel S models. The Aerodynamic Pack comes with a redesigned front fascia that has a more aggressive appearance, a front grille that uses black mesh inserts, and some XFR side sills.

The Jaguar XF was able to get its unique, modern, and even edgy appearance due to the Black Pack, Geoff Cousins, Jaguar UK Managing Director, said. Cousins revealed that it was during the Geneva Motor Show in 2010 that the Black Pack and the Speed Pack were originally launched for the XKR sports car.

Since then, around half of the XKR coupe buyers have chosen either of the two options. This is more than double the company's estimate and it’s expected that the Black Pack will continue to get the needed excitement for the XF customers, Cousins shared.

XF range has continued to generate increased interest especially with the expanded choice when it comes to customization options. Ever since it was launched back in 2008, more than 100,000 units have been sold across the world.

It has even received more than 60 awards internationally. The XF has managed to continue attracting new customers to the brand and with the new personalization packs extending the range of appeal, the brand is confident that its success will continue and not stop, Cousins concluded.

Press Release

BLACK PACK DELIVERS BOLD NEW LOOK FOR JAGUAR XF

The highly successful Jaguar XF sports saloon is now available with a dramatic new appearance pack for customers who want their Jaguar to make an even stronger visual impact.

The exclusive new Jaguar XF Black Pack brings an added sense of power and purpose to the sought-after XF range, and follows closely in the wheel tracks of a similar option on the XK sports car which has aroused huge interest since its launch earlier in 2010.

Featuring menacing dark-grey 20-inch Draco alloy wheels with diamond turned rims, a gloss black grille and gloss black window surrounds, the Jaguar XF Black Pack is available on XF Diesel S, the 5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and XFR models, with prices starting at £950.

"The Black Pack gives the XF a highly distinctive, very modern and a slightly edgy appearance," said Geoff Cousins, Managing Director, Jaguar UK. "Since the Black Pack and Speed Pack were launched on the XKR sports car at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, almost half of XKR coupe buyers have selected one or both options - double our original estimate - and we expect the Black Pack will generate just as much excitement amongst XF customers."

To provide added exclusivity and to maximise the visual impact, Jaguar XF Black Pack vehicles can only be specified with a special colour palette chosen by Jaguar designers, including Polaris White, Spectrum Blue, Ultimate Black, Stratus Grey, Lunar Grey and Liquid Silver, plus Kyanite Blue and Salsa Red which are colours unique to the XFR.

For an even more dramatic effect, the Black Pack can be combined with the XF Aerodynamic Pack which was launched on XF Diesel S earlier in 2010. This pack includes a re-profiled front bumper, striking black mesh inserts for the grille and lower air intakes and the muscular side sills from the XFR.

Extending the XF Success Story

The expanding choice of exciting personalisation options is generating even more interest in the XF range, which has now sold more than 100,000 units worldwide since its launch in 2008, as well as receiving more than 60 international awards.

"The XF continues to attract new customers to the Jaguar brand, and with these distinctive new personalisation packs extending the appeal of the range, we are confident that the success story will continue," added Geoff Cousins.
