Kia Motors Corporation's position as one of the world's fasting growing automakers is cemented further by its announcement that its global sales figures for passenger cars (export sales, domestic sales and sales from overseas plants), recreational vehicles (RVs) and commercial vehicles for 2009 reached an all-time high of 1,651,920 units sold.

This means that Kia had a 20.1% increase year-on-year. With 304,295 units sold, the C-segment Cerato (known as 'Spectra' or 'Forte' in some markets) takes the spot as Kia's best selling model in overseas markets in 2009.

For second place, it's a tight contest with 177,299 units of the Kia's B-segment Rio sold and 172,296 of the Sportage compact SUV sold. Coming in fourth place is the C-segment cee'd with 124,389 units sold.
