Kia’s ambassadors have become so popular that views for their videos have already reached seven million views. Likewise, they have their own clothing line. They are not a group of boys or girls with die-hard fans -- they are the hamsters that Kia has popularized with a series of advertisements. They now head the campaign for the 2011 Hamstar Soul special edition.
First unveiled as a concept at the 2010 SEMA Show, the new Hamstar Soul builds on the success of the previous special editions and further expands the personalization options available for the Kia Soul while still keeping in check its valued package of safety and technology.
Available in a limited run, the Hamstar Soul in Molten Red finish builds on the Soul+ trim but features the custom Hamstar artwork, as emphasized by a black star graphic with the signature Hamstar script logo on the hood as well as by off-black matte finish stripes on the sides.
Moreover, the exterior of the Hamstar Soul dons body colored bumpers with a rear bumper appliqué, a rear sport spoiler and black fender vents with turn signal indicator, as well as a matte black alloy fuel door, fog lights, black 18-inch alloy wheels and power sunroof.
Inside, the Hamstar Soul has black leather trimmed seats with heated front seats, leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and Hamstar floor mats, as well as push button start with smart key and automatic climate control. Occupants are treated to a sumptuous audio experience thanks to an Audio Upgrade Package that includes a center speaker, a 315-watt external amplifier and subwoofer. It also includes speaker lights that dance to the beat of the music.
This special edition comes with a four-speed automatic transmission and will be available with a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) that starts at $20,295 (excluding $695 destination and handling fee, taxes, title and license fees, additional options and retailer charges). Michael Sprague, vice president of marketing & communications at KMA, remarked that the Soul -- the first vehicle introduced under the carmaker’s design-led transformation – is a game changer for Kia.
He added that the ongoing popularity of its ad campaigns has translated to record sales and significant rise in consumer awareness, perception and consideration. He added that the Hamstar Soul special edition is the latest embodiment of a designed philosophy that has made the brand stand out from the rest.
