The Knaus Sky TI 650 MF has been honored as the overall Motorhome of the Year for 2012. It has also received the Fixed Bed Coachbuilt recognition at the inaugural motorhome of the year awards. The Motorhome of the Year awards are given by magazines Motorcaravan Motorhome Monthly, which is the bestselling motorhome magazine in the UK, and Which Motorhome, the only motorhome test and buying magazine in the nation.
The combined awards are aimed at recognizing the best new motorhomes and campervans on sale in the country. The Caravan Club sponsored the awards. The event, attended by manufacturers and dealers from the motorhome industry, was held at the Luton Hoo Hotel.
The Knaus Sky TI 650 MF is considered as a superb example of a fixed bed coachbuilt motorhome. It astonished the MMM and Which Motorhome judges because it provides great value for money, remarkable levels of equipment and excellent design.
The motorhome is founded on a Fiat Ducato 2.3TD 130bhp. It is 2.32 meters in width, 6.99 meters in length and 2.75 meters in height. It is available for as low as £52,995.
MMM's deputy editor, Judge Rachel Stothert, commented that the vehicle is "a great German motorhome which ticks the boxes" while road test editor Dave Hurrell for MMM and senior judge stated that it is the "epitome of a French bed low profile layout," accompanied by "bags of style and practicality."
Hurrell further said that it is a "big welcome back" for Knaus to the UK. Knaus was last year's winner too. The layout in the Sky TI 650 MF is one of the most renowned in modern motorhoming, with its high quality features and attractive package.
