Lamborghini is seriously upping its game as it moves to beat fiercest rival Ferrari for the market share in China. On the recently concluded "Lamborghini Brand Day," it presented 8 new super sports cars on the Chinese market.
These are the Gallardo LP 550-2, Gallardo LP 550-2 Valentino Balboni, Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera, Gallardo LP560-4 Coupe, Gallardo LP560-4 Spyder, Murcielago LP650-4 Roadster, Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce and Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce China, a limited edition for Chinese buyers.
Lamborghini currently has six dealerships in Guangzhou, Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu, Hangzhou and Hong Kong. Two distributors in Shenzhen and Xiamen have begun operating. For the period from January to April, Lamborghini sold 38 vehicles in China.
This stands for a 90% increase year on year. Meanwhile, Ferrari sold 68 vehicles, doubling its sales from the prior year.
Lamborghini is aiming for a 25% sales increase this year and to achieve that, it has to deliver over 100 cars to the Chinese market. Lamborghini is all set to break sales records in 2010. [via gasgoo]
