Lexus celebrating London’s social season throughout June

Article by Christian A., on June 3, 2011

For London’s social season, Lexus has prepared a line of showcase activities throughout the month of June. At Motorexpo at Canary Wharf next week, Lexus will display its supercar, the LFA.

Those who visit the annual free show will get to see the Lexus performance machine but they may also get the chance to test drive the new CT 200h hybrid luxury hatchback that’s also on display. Other vehicles that will be showcased include the RX 450h hybrid SUV, IS 250C coupe-convertible and LS 600h hybrid limousine.

The Lexus’ presence at Motorexpo supports its centers in the London region, located in Lexus Park Lane, Edgware Road, Sidcup, Croydon, Hatfield, Guildford, Tunbridge Wells, Woodford and Twickenham. The LF-A supercar will also be seen at this year’s Salon Prive, which is located across the capital at Syon Park, close to Richmond.

The Salon Prive takes place in the grounds of the historic home of the Duke of Northumberland from June 22 to the 24. In this occasion, visitors will get to see the most enviable classic and contemporary cars.

Aside from the LF-A, Lexus will be bringing the RX 450h and LS 600h too. From June 20 to July 3, guests at the Cannizaro House hotel who are there for the Wimbledon games, will be driven to and from the venue in Lexus luxury SUVs. Lexus is providing six vehicles, including the RX 450h, for the hotel’s chauffeur service.

The new Lexus CT 200h full hybrid hatchback is expected to introduce the brand’s known fusion of quality, sophistication and high technology to the premium compact segment, thereby attracting a new set of younger customers to the luxury brand. Designed and developed according to the needs and wants of the automotive customers in Europe, the new Lexus CT 200h features a size, a full hybrid technology and ultra-low emissions that would appeal to young people who are not only discerning, but are also conscious of the environment.

Of course, as a Lexus, the new Lexus CT 200h still offers a high level of refinement and driving enjoyment. Lexus hopes to offer its discerning customers with a premium compact that is an embodiment of the brand’s five key attributes: Lexus Hybrid Drive and its Energy Management System; a dynamic yet elegant styling that adheres to Lexus' L-finesse design philosophy; a distinct driving character; the carmaker’s hallmark manufacturing quality and attention to detail; and customer service that the brand has been known for.

The Lexus Hybrid Drive system powering the new CT 200h was developed in close adherence to over 500 strict development standards – also known as Lexus MUSTs -- that set stringent guidelines to bring the car’s dynamic and environmental performance to a whole new level.

These Lexus MUSTs also set NVH standards that allow the brand’s vehicles to achieve high levels of quietness and durability. Moreover, these Lexus MUSTs apply to static elements like the appearance and tactile quality of the controls, their sound quality as well as their performance and sensitivity.

Since the new platform underpinning the new Lexus CT 200h features a number of engineering applications for the body, chassis and Lexus Hybrid Drive powertrain control system, it allows the hybrid vehicle to offer segment-exclusive Dynamic or Relaxing driving moods. In addition, the new CT 200h offers quite a combination of stability, precise handling, agility and ride comfort even when cruising at high speeds, thanks to its highly rigid bodyshell, low center of gravity, distinct lateral performance damper system and new double wishbone rear suspension.

This road sensation is further enhanced by an interior environment with prime focus on the driver. In fact, the new Lexus CT 200h provides drivers with low, ergonomically ideal driving position without sacrificing the roominess and elegance of the entire cabin.

At first look, it is easy to see that the new CT 200h fully adheres to the Lexus L-finesse design philosophy, as evidenced by the new Lexus frontal design, sweeping lines mimicking the natural flow of wind , and its purposeful, wide track stance. Production of the new Lexus CT 200h is done at Toyota Motor Kyushu, which is the first manufacturing site in the world to be dedicated to hybrid unit production.

Toyota Motor Kyushu is able to deliver the highest possible standards of manufacturing quality by combining the skills of Lexus master craftsmen and advanced production technology. The Lexus brand has been known to deliver legendary customer service and boasts of the finest dealer network in the auto industry. Its vaunted customer service has been recognized again and again through numerous accolades it has been receiving since the brand made its debut in 1990.
