Limited edition Porsche Design watch on sale in Dubai for $270,000

A limited edition Porsche Design watch is currently for sale at the Dubai Mall. But before you rush over there to acquire one for yourself, be warned that it has a price tag that’s up to four times the cost of a Porsche car. Swiss watchmaker Eterna designed and made the watch, which sells for only Dh990,000 or about $270,000.

Wael al Takhin, the general manager for Porsche Design in the UAE, said that this watch is those who want to be “unique” and would want to wear something that very few people could claim to have. If you buy this watch, it’s nearly impossible that you’re going to pass someone on the street who has the same ridiculously expensive watch.

Bornrich reports that only 50 limited edition Indicator watches have been produced. Of this number, 11 are offered with this specific design. In 2008, the Dubai Mall store made an order for two of the limited edition watches.

The first was delivered in 2009. It didn’t take long before it was snatched up by someone who owns a global drinks chain. The one being offered now, the number 7 unique Indicator, arrived six months ago. All Indicators feature a combination of 18-carat gold, titanium and rubber.

This watch’s clasps and body are built from rose gold. Its face is titanium and it has rubber straps that appear like Porsche tires. The face has a stop watch and second timer. As soon as the watch is low on power, a dial changes color from green to red. The Indicator is powered by the natural movement on the wrist but if it runs low, it will only require a simple rewinding.
