Mercedes-AMG and Cigarette Racing unveil Black Series Marauder boat

Article by Anita Panait, on February 25, 2012

Mercedes-AMG and Cigarette Racing unveiled the "Black Series" 50' Marauder Cigarette boat at the recently ended 2012 Miami Boat Show, a sign of strengthening alliance between the two entities.  Taking a cue from the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series, the Inspired by AMG "Black Series" 50' Marauder carries a striking black and white design scheme, which runs from the Mercedes color-matched paint to the newly designed interior, upholstered with luxurious Alcantara.

The car is integrated with more than a hundred anodized and corrosion-resistant billet aluminum pieces, all custom-made for the AMG Black Series boat.  The billet is featured on the dash, sound system, seat supports, grab handles and in several trim accents.

The Inspired by AMG "Black Series" 50' Marauder boat is powered by two Mercury Racing 1350hp engines combining to achieve a 2,700 hp output, which guarantees smooth pump fuel efficiency.

The source of inspiration for the Cigarette boat, the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series, is touted to be the most powerful C-Class of all time, with a maximum output of 510 hp and a maximum torque of 457 lb-ft.

The high-revving AMG 6.3-liter V8 allows the car to accelerate from zero to sixty miles per hour in just 4.2 seconds, and to reach a max speed of 186 mph.

AMG is presenting a new and exciting sports car for those who are passionate about them with its C63 AMG Coupé Black Series. This new sports car is big on horsepower, and it marks the continuation of the Black Series, which started in 2006. AMG is Mercedes-Benz’s performance brand and it is again showing off its expertise as far as designing and developing high-performance cars with emotional appeal is concerned.

Ola Källenius, Mercedes-AMG GmbH CEO, says that AMG is rooted in international motorsport. The new C63 AMG Coupé Black Series proves that there is a permanent transfer of technology, specifically from race track to road. The many successes in DTM, its range of customer sports cars such as SLS AMG GT3, and its commitment to Formula 1 where it has been offering the Official F1 Safety Car, as well as the Official F1 Medical Car, for the last 15 years, have continuously spurred on the company’s technicians and engineers.

The C63 AMG Coupé Black Series personifies AMG’s new brand claim of Driving Performance like none other.

Whatever angle you are looking at it from is of no consequence as the new C63 AMG Coupé Black Series showcases its motorsport qualities and ties from every perspective. Moreover, the car’s arrow-shaped front section, which carries the central Benz star in its radiator grille, is a visual synonym for the brand’s unfettered forwards thrust.

Additionally, its air intakes found in the stunning front apron ensure that reliable air flows through the car’s large cooling modules. There are also two openings in its aluminium bonnet that support the engine heat expulsion, while the struts, which are positioned in the front apron at an angle, emphasize the width of the vehicle. The black front splitter, which is found at the car’s lower end, helps balance aerodynamics.
