The German car producer Mercedes-Benz is presenting the C 350 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY equipped with a second generation direct fuel injection engine as the fourth BlueEFFICIENCY version in the C-Class. The new saloon has ten percent less fuel consumption in contrast to the current C 350. Add to that its new V6 engine that delivers 15 percent additional power and has passed future EU5 emission restrictions.

The Mercedes-Benz BlueEFFICIENCY unifies driving comfort, safety, economy and environmental compatibility in one package which is excellent for a car in this category.

At the center of the new Mercedes-Benz C 350 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY, which is already available on the market, is the world's first gasoline engine with spray-guided direct injection. It creates 292 hp (215kW) and a maximum torque of 365 Nm. This is 20 hp (15 kW) and 15 Nm greater power than the present V6 port injection engine. Fuel consumption has been measured at 8.3 liters of highest quality grade fuel for 100km in the European driving cycle.

This is made possible due to its groundbreaking combustion system with piezo injection and an exceptionally efficient gearshift program. The C 350 CGI's CO2 emission level at 193 g/km is 1.4 liters lower than the value achieved by the current C350 and has successfully met the EU5 standard for safe emissions. In addition to all its remarkable features, the new C 350 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY provides a high quality driving experience with acceleration rate of 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.2 seconds and a ceiling speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) which is electronically restricted.

The new C 350 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY will be offered as no-cost options with stylish equipment, or as the sporty "Avant-garde" version. In addition to a wide range of equipment and accessories as standard features, the saloons include an AMG spoiler lip on the boot lid, a two-way exhaust system with stainless steel tailpipe trim, seven-speed 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission, 16 inch light alloy wheels (17 inch wheels are available as no-cost options, too), speed-sensitive navigation and also "SPEEDTRONIC" cruise control with adjustable speed limit.

Besides the exhilarating appearance and modifications, for which Mercedes is famous, the new C-Class model also includes the most current, up to date technology available. Included, for instance, is the AGILITY CONTROL package with condition-sensitive shock absorber control, the Intelligent Light System with five variable lighting functions and the PRE-SAFE preventive passenger safety system.

The C-Class has been in the market since March 31 2007 with more than 400,000 buyers hoping to own a model in this series. As such, the C-Class series has become a global market leader in its category. The sticker price of the C 350 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY is placed at EUR 46,796 ($60,257) inclusive of VAT.
