Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series in the works

These latest spy photos of a special "Black Series" edition of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG replacement confirm a rumor a few months ago about the company’s plans for the M3. It’s to be expected that the carmaker will come up with this model since the CLK-Class is now masquerading as the E-Class Coupe and the CLK63 AMG Black Series won’t be returning.

In addition, Mercedes-Benz has been hard at work on a new C-Class Coupe to replace it. There was also a confirmation earlier of its plan for a C63 AMG.

With these elements in place, there really is no reason not to produce a Black Series. Sources are saying that this car is powered by a 6.2-liter V-8 engine that could deliver up to 510hp compared to the 451hp that the engine could typically generate.

The vehicle is equipped with AMG's seven-speed MCT automatic transmission that’s distributed to the big rear wheels. It has ceramic brakes and its wheels and fenders are of the big variety.

It’s clear that AMG is in the very early stages of creating a widebody kit that is a perfect match for the SL65 AMG Black Series. The features that are sure to make this model distinctive include rocker panels and sills, as well as a big front splitter and rear spoiler.
