Mercedes-Benz revealed today the all-new 2014 E-Class, a refreshed version of its popular sedan that promises to use new fuel-efficient engines, new assistance systems as well as an interesting design. The first visual impact with the car shows a new set of headlights fitted with LED daytime running lights that feature a brand new design line, different from the outgoing model.
We must say that these are quite interesting for a Mercedes-Benz. The rear end is not different from the old model, as they keep their shape but have a new design.
The 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class introduces features eleven new or optimized assistance systems from the future S-Class such Lane Keeping Assist, anti-glare continuous high-beam headlamps or a system that cab help to prevent accidents with crossing vehicles or pedestrians.
The standard E-Class will be offered with the 2.0-liter petrol engine delivering 184 hp and 300 Nm of torque (E200) and 211 hp and 350 Nm of torque in the E250.
A 3.5-liter V6 petrol engine will be offered in the E300, while the E400 will get a 3.0-liter V6 engine with 333 hp. The E500 will get the big 4.6-liter V8 with 408 hp and 600 Nm of torque. Regarding the diesel engines, the E200 CDI will get the 2.1-liter four-cylinder with 136 hp and 360 Nm of torque.
The same engine will be found on the E220 CDI, but on this version it will deliver 170 hp and 400 Nm of torque.
The E250 CDI will get the same 2.1-liter diesel engine but with 204 hp and 500 Nm of torque. The E350 will get the 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine with 231 hp. The E300 BlueTEC Hybrid will get the 2.1-liter diesel engine with 204 hp paired with an electric motor delivering 26 hp.
