Mercedes-Benz is one of great places to work in the UK

Article by Anita Panait, on June 14, 2013

Mercedes-Benz has recently been named as among the Best Workplaces in the United Kingdom by The Great Place to Work Institute. Mercedes-Benz UK and Mercedes-Benz Retail Group ranked 25th and 24th respectively in the Large Workplace category, which included organizations employing 500 people or more.

The ranking was based on a Great Place to Work survey conducted by the Institute using two methods -- an employee survey and a management questionnaire. The survey asked whether employees agree or disagree with a range of statements while the cultural audit assesses how management creates trust in the workplace. The scores from the two methods determine whether an organization is a great workplace.

Marcus Breitschwerdt, president and chief executive of Mercedes-Benz UK, remarked that they are delighted with the company’s ranking in the UK’s Best Workplaces. He said that the survey gave them “real understanding of colleague job satisfaction and commitment,” added that it showed that they have a “committed and engaged workforce.”

He quipped that he has always known Mercedes-Benz as a great place to work, noting that its “great to see” his colleagues and the Institute agree. He remarked that having an engaged and motivated workforce mean the company is better equipped to serve customers. He said that their workforce’s commitment is reflected in its record-breaking start to 2013.
