Mercedes-Benz needs 100 young drivers to test its brand new Driving Experience centre

Article by Christian Andrei, on April 24, 2012

On May 6, Mercedes-Benz is giving 100 lucky competition winners the chance to test its brand new Driving Experience centre at the Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire. Those who qualify for the contest include those who are 17 years old and under and taller than 1.5 metres. They can test their skills through a specially designed road layout that includes Bridge Corner, a part of the pre-2011 Grand Prix Circuit.

The young drivers will have a safe and controlled environment where they can learn car control like pulling away at junctions, steering through corners and roundabouts, braking, reversing and other valuable driving skills. Beginners could learn to drive at their own pace with the professional and friendly instructors from Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy. The center will open to the public this May.

There’s also the former Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Communications centre, which is used by the Woking-based Formula 1TM team from 2001 - 2007. It is known as one of the most remarkable structures in the Grand Prix paddock and will continue to offer a VIP experience to those who will participate and watch Mercedes-Benz Driving Experiences.
