Mercedes-Benz TV now available also on mobile terminals

To increase its mobile marketing pursuits, Mercedes-Benz is increasing its brand portal for mobile terminals at The gateway's existing sections: New Vehicles, Brand World, Entertainment, Service and Contact were recently joined by more entertainment platforms such as Mercedes-Benz TV and Mercedes-Benz Mixed Tape, a music download service.

The choice of individualized services is rounded off by an automotive configurator and also information on the procedural particulars of each model offered by the automotive brand Stuttgart. Dr. Olaf Gottgens, Vice President Brand Communications Mercedes-Benz Cars, said that: "The mobile brand portal enables us to expand the direct contact with a growing target group."

He further said that: "Cell phones are one of the most frequently utilized means of communication, and our portal enables customers and individuals interested in the brand to call up -- at any time and from any location -- all kinds of information, including everything from the technical details of our vehicles to entertainment features and a dealership search function."

Besides watching features on five different web channels: Lifestyle, Vehicles, Motor and Sports, History and Legends, and Innovation on Mercedes-Benz TV on cell phones, users can also receive exclusive reports on the brand from streams or downloads coming from a weekly magazine.

Additional highlight on the mobile scene is Mixed Tape which is a well-liked music download service which will be available from October 17. Mixed Tape provides potential music artists a stage from which to introduce their work to a much wider public. Once every two months or so, new collections of mp3 songs will be made available ready for cell phone downloads.

The Mixed Tape Music Magazine which provides a monthly music show in video clips, the newest music styles, and album tips, will, in the future, be available as streaming video. Another innovation in the Mercedes-Benz brand information and its model categories is the enabling of portal users to configure their own dream car and then downloading the images of their own creation into their mobile phones.

This service includes all the passenger car models from the A-Class to the SL, which allows the portal visitors to choose from a wide range of equipment lines, features, and rim and paint styles, among many other things.

Via the portal, car enthusiasts have the opportunity to get a hold of information on the involvement of Mercedes-Benz in the Formula 1 and DTM racing series. This section includes drivers' photos, teams and cars, as well as the most recent racing results and all other data on races that have already been finished.

The Service & Contact section is the user assistance sector that aids visitors deal with various issues. A search feature provides information on the nearest sales partner and an incorporated immediate dialing function offers the option to call them. To add to all these, Mercedez-Benz also operates a round- the-clock customer support service, an airport service and a transport service which can all be availed through the mobile portal.
