MINI launches voting on first Creative Use of Space Award

Article by Christian A., on January 28, 2011

You may vote for your favorite snowboarding stars of the Burton Global Open Series (BGOS) at www.facebook.com/MINI. Internet users can view each individual jump and decide who deserves to get the Creative Use of Space Award. As a BGOS partner, MINI will be giving the award to the two snowboarders who are voted the ultimate winners, the best male and female rider, who will get a total of US$50,000.

A shortlist of the most innovative runs for this event in Laax, Switzerland, has already been drafted by a group of experts.

Included in this list are Jamie Anderson (USA), Ty Walker (USA), Yuki Furihata (Japan), Xaver Hoffmann (Germany), Sven Thorgren (Sweden), Peetu Piiroinen (Finland) and Markus Keller (Switzerland).

MINI fans can access the web clips on Facebook that show the course runs and complete jump sequences. It’s easy to have your vote recorded. Simply “Like” your favorite rider and you will instantly be entered in a prize draw.

The winner will get a trip for four to any of the upcoming BGOS events in New Zealand, Switzerland, Canada or the USA. Expenses for the flight, accommodation and lift pass are covered by MINI.

The Creative Use of Space Award is intended to encourage snowboarders to boost their creativity and courage to hone their individual styles as well as to fully make use of their element while leaping through the air – which is consistent with the MINI philosophy of using limited space as creatively as possible.
