New Ferrari website making its debut on Sunday

Ferrari is launching its new website this Sunday and visitors to the site can personalize a model of their choice and take it for a test drive around the Mugello Circuit in cyberspace.

The virtual car will come with a virtual Michael Schumacher, who in real life has driven all the Ferraris around the circuit, after the tour he will give advice regarding the driving style and how to take the most efficient racing course.

The site visitors will have options as to the color and specifications of the car before they can actually see it in virtual space being built in a virtual factory and taking it to the race track.

Furthermore, the Maranello Experience also permits site visitors to tak an online tour of the carmaker's complex, entering through the gate on Via Abetone, just like in real life. What is more, the Ferrari website will be including a live coverage of the F1 season from a virtual pitwall, and users can check the telemetry readings coming in from all the cars.

Ferrari Marc Gene, the Ferrari test driver will also be available to provide advice, and race results can be contrasted with the previous season's results.

The drivers of Ferrari F1 will also update their personal blogs. The opening on Sunday is intended to go simultaneous with the 2009 Australian Grand Prix World Championship.
