Yesterday, Ford unveiled the 2014 Focus Facelift but it appears that the American manufacturer has big plans with the new Focus as this version will also receive the high-performance RS model. That’s right folks, the new Focus RS is coming! According to the Swedish magazine Auto Motor and Sport, the new Focus RS will debut in 2015 and will use the new 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine found on the 2015 Mustang.

If on the Mustang, the 2.3-liter EcoBoost develops 305 hp (227 kW), on the 2015 Ford Focus RS the engine will generate around 330 hp (246 kW). We have no further details of the new car but we expect it to be faster than the previous model.

For those who don’t know, the first Focus RS was released back in 2009 and was powered by a 2.5-liter petrol engine that delivers 305 hp (224 kW) and is able to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.9 seconds as well as a top speed of 264 km/h or 164 mph.
