Nissan’s new concept car, Friend-ME, will have its global unveiling at the Auto Shanghai 2013 on April 20. Friend-ME’s design and development were undertaken by Chinese designers who worked at Nissan Design China in Beijing. The concept has a first-of-its-kind center console that permits equal information sharing for everyone on board, dubbed "Four Seats, One Mind Connectivity.”
Nissan is targeting the Friend-ME towards the young people in China, one of the most dynamic segments in the quickest-growing automobile markets throughout the world. About 20 vehicles will be brought to the show by Nissan (China) Investment Co., Ltd., together with Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company (DFL-PV) and Zhengzhou Nissan Automobile Co., Ltd. (ZNA).
Among them are the eagerly awaited new models like the Nissan GT-R, Quest and Murano. Nissan will also be displaying the Teana, its newly launched global sedan. Nissan will also be putting up an Innovation Wall to give visitors a more intense understanding of its technologies and to get a sense of the driving experience when they’re driving a Nissan.
There will also be a special Teana technology corner that provides the complete details about the new luxury sedan, including driving performance, comfort and safety. Nissan will mark the first deployment of its new global exhibit space design for motor shows in Asia at the Auto Shanghai 2013.
This new design first appeared last January in Detroit at the North American International Auto Show 2013. At Nissan’s booth, visitors will be ushered into Nissan’s world where their senses (sight, touch, sound and smell) will be stimulated. Smell? Yes, guests will be treated to a new green tea-inspired "Nissan fragrance."
