Nissan Juke-R: official photos and video released

Article by Christian A., on November 18, 2011

A video as well as a new set of images of the Nissan Juke-R, the world’s fastest crossover, have been released before its official testing set for later this month. Powered by a 480bhp, 3.8-litre engine, the Juke-R is a unique concept car that has the power, speed and handling of Nissan’s flagship GT-R sports car and the Juke crossover model’s bold and exciting design.

It’s apparent from the images and video how energetic and provocative this urban rebel crossover is. Meanwhile, its matt black finish shows off its rebellious personality. The Juke-R is easily the most testosterone-packed compact crossover in the world due to its unique styling that puts Juke’s curves and lines over GT-R’s 3.8-litre engine, drivetrain and suspension.

Its performance and its design make this vehicle truly a strong force to reckon with. It features huge vents in the front bumper that provides cooling for the Juke-R’s twin turbo V6 engine. Meanwhile, the subtle submerged ducts in the bonnet help draw air through the engine bay. It is equipped with GT-R’s 20-inch RAYS forged alloy wheels and flared wheel arches, merging with a new sculpted skirting.

There is a dynamic split rear wing at the back of the car that provides the supercar crossover with down-force. Its twin pentagonal exhausts produce an engine note similar to the GT-R’s. At the center of this modified interior cabin is the Juke’s motorcycle-inspired console that was fitted for racing. It includes the twin race seats, full race harness and a race-spec roll cage.

The Juke has a modified dashboard that features the GT-R steering wheel, pedals, dials and 7-inch touch-screen display. The Juke-R, which was officially unveiled by Nissan Europe last October, isn’t a production car but is a special, road legal concept car. Nissan has prepared two Juke-R versions – one in left-hand-drive and the other in right-hand-drive.
