The order books are now open for Nissan's electric vehicle, only a few days after the Japanese manfufacturer announced the roll out plan for the US and the 8 years, with 100,000 miles warranty for Leaf's battery.
The Leaf will only be offered for Portugal and the Republic of Ireland. Starting September 1, the UK will start receiving orders on September 1, with deliveries slated to start in March.
Simon Thomas, Nissan International Sales and Marketing vice president, said that the industry is brought one step closer to reality in Europe of having zero-emissions motoring,"
He added that the Nissan LEAF will attract consumers on many levels since it's a totally zero-emission electric car with all of the financial and environmental benefits that it will bring. It also has a practical family size car and is fun to drive. Nissan considers this to be a powerful combination.
The Nissan LEAF has gotten significant interest from prospective customers. To date, 12,000 customers in Europe have signified their interest to buy a Leaf.
The Leaf in Portugal is priced from EUR30,250, in Ireland from EUR29,995 and in the UK from 23,990 pounds (including new VAT rate).
