Off-Road Adventures names Ram Truck as Manufacturer of the Year

Article by Christian A., on December 8, 2010

The Ram Truck brand has been named by Off-Road Adventures magazine as the Manufacturer of the Year. The magazine applauds Ram Truck for having shown a “commitment to advanced design and proven powertrains” in the limited numbers of models that it has released.

In particular, the magazine cites Ram Heavy Duty's 5.7l HEMI and 6.7l Cummins turbo diesel powertrains as being known for their reliability.

Fred Diaz, Ram Truck CEO, has said that he is proud of the title. He also said that the magazine’s use of the Ram Power Wagon as the cover photo is very fitting since Ram Power Wagon's unmatched off-road capability means that it is the “best truck” to use on a “real off-road adventure."

Just a few weeks ago, Texas auto journalists have named Ram Truck’s Laramie Longhorn as the Truck of Texas. These achievements give the new brand an edge against rival, Ford Built Tough trucks.

The Laramie Longhorn features full leather interior, engraved details and burled walnut woodgrain surfaces, in either dark slate gray and russet or bark brown and light pebble beige interior colors.

Buyers can choose from the Ram 1500, 2500 or 3500 Heavy Duty pickup trucks and it rides on either 20-inch chrome-clad aluminum wheels (Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn) or polished aluminum wheels (Ram 2500 and 3500 Laramie Longhorn).
