This is it folks! This is the all-new 2015 BMW X4 (F26) and if you already drooling you have to know that it has a $46,625 sticker price including destination. As expected, this new model is based on the X3 but according to BMW it has been refined with driving dynamics in order to place it on another level.
Set to make its world debut at the 2014 New York Auto Show, in April, the 2015 BMW X4 (F26) will take on cars such as the recently introduced Porsche Macan and the Range Rover Evoque, but BMW expects to have the same success with the new Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) as it had with the X6. And speaking of the X6, the new BMW X4 looks just like a smaller X6 but comes with a more affordable price.
BMW X4 was styled under Karim Habib, head of BMW brand design, and shares various front-end styling elements with the recently introduced X3 Facelift, including the shape of the LED headlamps. Still, the BMW X4 comes with a new bumper that features larger cooling ducts, a more contoured bonnet and a new kidney grille.
At the rear we find slender C-pillars as well as muscular hunches over the rear wheels, a high rear deck, a brand new bumper and new LED taillights. At 184.3 inches (4,680 mm) in length, it is 0.6 inches (14 mm) longer than the X3, but is also 1.5 inches (37 mm) lower (height: 63.9 in./1,624 mm). Don’t expect to find a brand new interior as you will not because the BMW X4 shares the interior appointments with the X3, including rhe dashboard and related trims.
Due to the reduced height, the front seats are mounted lower (20 millimetres) than those of its more conventional sibling. The X4 offers a trunk volume of 500 litres but this can be increased to 1400 litres.
Moreover, for those who want more individualization, the 2015 BMW X4 (F26) is available with the M Sport Pack and xLine. The M Sport Pack brings the new M Aerodynamics package, the BMW Individual High-gloss Shadow Line, six selected paint finishes including the new Melbourne Red metallic, four special interior trim strips, sport seats with various cloth/leather and leather upholstery variants, the BMW Individual roof liner in Anthracite, an M leather steering wheel, M door sill finishers, an M driver’s footrest and 18, 19, and 20-inch alloy light-alloy wheels exclusive to M. The xLine equipment package comes with two exclusive light-alloy wheel variants in 18 and 18-inch formats, six individual cloth and leather upholstery variants and special trim.
