Official: Audi A5 Cabrio coming this week

The official photos and specifications of the latest Audi A5 Cabriolet and its S5 brother will be made available by Audi by week's end.

Not following in the steps of Bmw 3-Series Convertible, the Lexus IS 250C and the Infiniti G37 Convertible, Audi continues to resist the propensity toward retractable hard tops choosing rather to equip the A5 and S5 Cabriolets with a more traditional and to a greater degree less intricate and massive, electric folding roof made of cloth.

Selection of power for the A5 Cabriolet will basically remain the same as the Coupe offerings apart from the 2.0 TDI. A 2.7-liter and 3.0-liter V6 diesel with productions of 190 hp and 240 hp, correspondingly, two 2.0-liter TFSI gas powertrains with 180 hp and 211hp and a 3.2-liter V6 FSI gas engine with 265 hp will complete the lineup.

 It is affirmed by reliable sources that S5 Cabriolet will be offered beginning launch with the S4's most current 3.0-liter supercharged V6 powertrain that runs at 333 hp and a torque production of 440 Nm (324.53 lb-ft).

Force will be shared to all four-wheels via a 6-speed manual box or through the latest latest 7-speed double-clutch S-Tronic transmission as an alternative. A similar engine will also alternate to the current S5 Coupe's 354 hp 4.2-liter V8 unit found in the 2009 model. Expect the A5 and S5 to be up for sale by the spring of 2009.
