This spring 2012 at the International Geneva Motor Show (March 8-18), BMW M GmbH is going to unveil the BMW M Performance Automobiles, a new product range targeted towards customers seeking a sporty, comfortable and practical car. This new product range offers exclusive engine variants, excellent driving precession, unmatched agility and an emotionally appealing design.
Of course, the new BMW M Performance Automobiles is laced with the familiar M genes, as evident with the interplay of dynamic engine output, power transmission and chassis technology as well as aerodynamic balance.
Remarkably, the BMW M Performance Automobiles creates a new model category, in which high-performance sports cars realizes a concept focused on inspirational driving dynamics.
Friedrich Nitschke, President of BMW M GmbH, remarked that with the BMW M Performance Automobiles, they are targeting customers seeking more emotional and higher performance cars that could still be used day-to-day. He said BMW M is already planning additional models -- a wide variety of model series as well as both petrol and diesel variants – in the new product line-up.
He noted that the intelligent all-wheel-drive system BMW xDrive would have a vital role in the BMW M Performance Automobiles. With the impending launch of the BMW M Performance Automobiles, 2012 could be one of the most successful years for BMW M. It builds on the momentum set last year, when BMW M launched the BMW 1 Series M Coupe and the new BMW M5.
In 2012, BMW will also launch the new BMW M6 and other new vehicles. Nitschke quipped that BMW M Performance Automobiles fully benefit from the expertise of BMW M, which boasts of decades of motor sport experience.
The models that are part the BMW M Performance Automobiles take inspiration from the BMW M535i. Unveiled in 1980, the BMW M535i became a hit among performance-minded customers thanks to its additional power, precisely tuned chassis, and revised design. It remained in production through two model generations until 1987.
